Staff Accountant

About This Role

The Staff Accountant supports grant accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. This role suits a proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented candidate who is comfortable managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grant-related financial records and prepare reports for state and federal funders
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end closing activities
• Assist with audits and provide supporting financial documentation
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper recording
• Identify discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and recommend process improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 1 year of Staff Accounting experience
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, takes initiative, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with grant accounting and financial reporting
• Knowledge of bank reconciliations, AP/AR, journal entries, and month-end close
