Additional Information About The Role Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Sr. Supply Distribution Technician!

Schedule: Nights 10:30 PM-7 AM

Key Responsibilities:

• Freight Handling: Unload inbound freight, ensuring safe and efficient processing of packages.
• Package Processing: Process packages according to BJC receiving guidelines, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
• Freight Staging: Stage inbound and outbound freight for efficient workflow and distribution.
• Campus Deliveries: Perform timely direct deliveries to various departments across campus.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with departments via email or Microsoft Teams chat to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
• Discrepancy Documentation: Identify and document freight discrepancies, ensuring accurate reporting.
• RTV Processing: Complete Return to Vendor (RTV) forms as needed, following company procedures.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the receiving department?s operations.

Supplies account for 22.6% of BJC¿s total expenses. By developing integrated processes to manage product selection and utilization, contracting, purchasing, logistics, distribution, and payment we can ensure our patients have the supplies they need while minimizing the overall cost to our organization. By following the purchasing policies, using the products under contract, and preventing waste, you help make sure we spend our supply dollars wisely.

Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Oversees daily management of medical material (supplies, equipment and linen) for multiple departments throughout the hospital and/or network. Primary duties will include supply room and warehouse cleaning and organization, department customer service, reviewing item par levels and usage with department leadership, bin optimization, material ordering, receiving and stocking, assisting with manufacturer recall notifications/usage investigations. Aids in training, mentoring and developing new Supply Technicians. Performs other duties as assigned. Senior Supply Techs should be able to perform all core competencies as well as assist in training, mentoring and development of Supply Techs.

Responsibilities

• Able to apply lean supply philosophy, performs basic analytics using Microsoft products and other tools available through supply chain management systems.
• Performs material receiving functions verifying correct items, quantities, processing receipts in the inventory management computer system, process RTVs, tagging/labeling and staging items for delivery.
• Review reports, collaborate with department staff to adjust par levels, coordinate opportunities for improvement, implement and maintain standardized community supply model, assist w/JIT room audits.
• Processes stock/non-stock orders in the inventory management systems, coordinates with procurement to resolve order issues, RTVs, discrepancies, match exceptions, recalls and returns to vendor.
• Provides daily oversight of material functions while ensuring a safety focused environment complying with BJC, OSHA, Joint Commission standards and performs housekeeping functions in supply rooms.
