Demonstrates working understanding of internal and external customer or business needs. Translates requirements into basic specifications and designs with moderate guidance. Develops and executes test protocols with moderate guidance. Independently tests, analyzes and solves working technical problems. Has developed knowledge and skills in own job family; still acquiring / expanding fundamental knowledge and higher-level skills. Applies knowledge and skills to a variety of standard activities. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.
As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer at BD's Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team, you will utilize your knowledge and experience in Mechanical Engineering to support efforts to insource new product.
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into hardware specifications.
- Solve technical problems.
- Develop test strategies to demonstrate designs meet requirements and specifications.
- Analyze and interpret test results using standard statistical tools and techniques.
- Create comprehensive test reports and presentations
- Effectively present and communicate analysis to project teams and management, driving decisions and conclusions
- Assist project management in identifying and managing technical risk.
- Contribute to schedule development, and milestone achievement predictability.
- Applying Design for Six Sigma and problem-solving methodologies during product development
Education & Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- At least 5 years related experience.
- Medical device experience preferred.
- Experience with electro-mechanical mechanisms, motor control, sensors, injection molded and sheet metal part design.
- Experience with mechanical CAD tools (preferably SolidWorks 2019), FEA, sheet metal design and fabrication, plastic injection molded part design tooling and qualification; tolerance analysis, GD&T.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
