Senior Software Engineer – Distributed Systems & Modern JVM Development
We’re looking for an experienced engineer who thrives on building complex, high‑impact systems. In this role, you’ll shape technical direction, lead development efforts, and collaborate closely with teams and clients to deliver scalable, elegant solutions that solve real business challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the architecture, planning, and development of large‑scale applications from concept through deployment
- Translate sophisticated business requirements into reliable, end‑to‑end technical solutions
- Work directly with stakeholders to refine ideas, validate approaches, and ensure successful delivery
- Explore new technologies, tools, and engineering methods to continuously elevate product quality
- Establish engineering best practices, contribute to technical strategy, and mentor teammates
- Guide globally distributed teams through the full development lifecycle, ensuring clarity and alignment
What You Bring
- Deep experience building backend systems with modern JVM languages (Java, Scala, etc.)
- Strong understanding of concurrency, collections, and multithreaded application design
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code using automated testing frameworks
- Familiarity with design patterns, coding standards, and quality metrics
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and build automation tools
- Background working with relational or NoSQL databases and messaging technologies
- Experience developing APIs and service‑based architectures (REST, SOAP)
- Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object‑oriented design
- Comfort working in Linux/Unix environments and writing shell scripts
Bonus Points
- Exposure to front‑end technologies
- Experience building microservices and automated integration tests
- Performance tuning and profiling of high‑throughput applications
- Knowledge of API documentation and management tools
- Familiarity with security or identity frameworks
- Containerization experience (Docker, etc.)
- TDD/BDD practices and Agile/Scrum delivery
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Ability to travel when needed
