SQL Database Administrator - SQL DBA

About This Role

The SQL Database Administrator plays an important role in keeping business-critical databases performing at their best. This position offers opportunities to troubleshoot complex issues, tune queries, improve reliability, and work closely with application support and development teams. As a key member of the technical team, you will help keep databases secure, efficient, and dependable while supporting the applications customers rely on.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical requests from end users of RCH products and systems, investigate issues, analyze available data, and quickly identify root causes
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server database environments
• Analyze execution plans, Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), and other diagnostic tools to identify bottlenecks and improve query performance, scalability, and efficiency
• Review and tune queries flagged as potentially harmful to production systems, helping maintain stability, availability, and reliability
• Work directly with application support specialists and developers to implement database changes in accordance with company standards and change management policies
• Partner with the application support team to prepare for and execute quarterly application releases
• Evaluate new SQL Server features, trace flags, and operational changes before database migrations and version upgrades
• Create and update database diagrams, operational procedures, data standards, data definitions, and reports
