Sports Information Assistant

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, English, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop game recaps, feature stories, and other athletic communications materials
• Strong time management and organizational skills, particularly during peak athletic seasons and high-volume event schedules
• Ability to perform stat calling and live statistics input using NCAA-approved software platforms such as NCAA Live Stats and PrestoSports
• Ability to maintain and update website content, statistics, schedules, rosters, and game information
• Must be available to work nights and weekends
• Must represent the University in a professional and positive manner
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, student-athletes, administrators, media members, and campus partners
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately maintain statistics, records, and game information
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team-oriented athletic department environment
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technology, software platforms, and athletic communications workflows
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in game day and live event environments
• Ability to stand for extended periods during athletic events
• Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 25 pounds
• Ability to travel to off-campus athletic events and maintain reliable transportation
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and outdoor events in varying weather conditions

Nice to have:

• Creative experience in graphic design, photography, video editing, and/or social media content creation
• 1-5 years of previous athletic communications experience
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva
• Experience with livestreaming, broadcast production, athletic social media management, or other digital media platforms
• Familiarity with NCAA Live Stats, PrestoSports, and/or StatCrew software
• Knowledge of college athletics and NCAA game operations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with athletic communications software and digital platforms
