Specialist, Quality & Risk Management

About This Role

This pivotal role ensures the organization operates within appropriate frameworks, actively mitigating risks, safeguarding its reputation, upholding unwavering quality standards, and fostering trust among clients and stakeholders. The specialist will focus on driving strong governance, proactive risk management, and consistent quality across the firm.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management and execution of quality, risk, and governance activities, including coordinating stakeholder input, conducting initial assessments, maintaining documentation, tracking actions and deadlines, and escalating matters as appropriate
• Assist with the monitoring of regulatory developments and support ongoing risk and compliance assessments to identify emerging requirements and potential impacts
• Advance the governance structure and compliance oversight of firmwide policies, including support for policy lifecycle management, monitoring, and reporting
• Support leadership participation in firmwide and global committees, including the coordination and preparation of materials related to quality and risk matters
• Develop clear and timely reporting on quality and risk matters for senior management and those charged with governance to support effective oversight and decision-making
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of business processes, systems, and operations

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a Regulatory, Risk Management, and/or Compliance related field
• Strong organization and process management skills: ability to prioritize competing demands and adapt to evolving priorities and ad hoc responsibilities
• Experience with preparing Board level reporting, including presentation materials and corresponding speaking notes
• The ability to build relationships and establish trust with individuals including internal leaders and external parties
• Familiarity with Canadian standards, industry norms, and regulatory requirements
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
