About the role
**Must have 3PL logistics background.
My client is seeking seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and commercially savvy Director (E-Commerce) to spearhead our expansion across Southeast Asia (SEA). This leadership role is responsible for identifying greenfield and brownfield opportunities, establishing key 3PL/vendor partnerships, localizing e-commerce supply chain solutions, and driving commercial traction across target SEA markets.
- The ideal candidate possesses deep hands-on expertise in the Southeast Asian e-commerce logistics ecosystem, a proven track record of standing up new markets from scratch, and strong vendor negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Exploration & Feasibility
- Conduct comprehensive market landscape assessments across key SEA countries (e.g., Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore) to evaluate demand, regulatory constraints, customs landscapes, and viable business models.
- Build robust business cases covering commercial pricing models, operational workflows, regulatory compliance, capital expenditure, and P&L projections.
- Develop strategic go/no-go recommendations and present implementation frameworks to regional executive leadership.
- Formulate entry scenarios (direct setup, agency models, JVs, or strategic vendor partnerships) tailored to each target market.
- Ecosystem Partnerships & Vendor Management
- Scout, negotiate with, and onboard critical logistics partners across the region, including first/last-mile carriers, cross-border clearance agents, line-haul providers, and bonded/fulfillment warehouse operators.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), service-level agreements (SLAs), and commercial rate cards with newly contracted vendors.
- Drive operational alignment between external vendors and internal functional teams to build a resilient, scalable supply chain infrastructure.
- Go-to-Market & Commercial Implementation
- Formulate and execute granular Go-to-Market (GTM) playbooks following market entry approvals.
- Orchestrate cross-functional delivery across IT/systems integration, customs/trade compliance, pricing, operations, legal, finance, and customer service.
- Adapt Noatum’s standard global e-commerce and freight solutions to match local SEA cross-border and domestic market nuances (e.g., COD handling, marketplace fulfillment, regional hubbing).
- Partner closely with the regional Sales and Commercial teams to pitch, secure, and onboard flagship e-commerce brands, platforms, and cross-border sellers.
