What We Offer:

The Sonographer III is an advanced imaging professional who supports physicians in performing diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound procedures. This role requires expert-level proficiency across multiple specialties, with clinical expertise aligned to the imaging needs of the hiring site.

The Sonographer III ensures exceptional patient care, diagnostic accuracy, and high-quality imaging in every exam.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and provide safe, attentive care throughout procedures.
  • Perform advanced ultrasound imaging across multiple specialties in alignment with site-specific needs.
  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Tailor care based on patient age, clinical condition, and individual abilities.
  • Receive, document, and process verbal, written, and electronic imaging orders.
  • Follow established protocols while optimizing technical factors to ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer medications and contrast media as prescribed; perform venipuncture when required.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality, accurate labeling, and proper patient identification.
  • Ensure all examinations are complete, accurate, and compliant with clinical standards.
  • Efficiently manage the transfer and review of images and related clinical information for interpreting providers.
  • Operate EMR, RIS, and PACS systems with proficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved or CAAHEP-accredited Sonography Program — Required
  • Associate Degree — Preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sonographyRequired
  • Must meet Life Support Training requirements per NH-HR-3096.

Licensure / Certification

All of the following are required:

Three ARDMS specialties, including Vascular Technology (RVT).
Other acceptable specialties include:

  • Pediatric Sonography (PS)
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)
  • Abdomen (AB)
  • Musculoskeletal (MSKS)

Breast Sonography does not count toward the three required specialties.

Acceptable credential pathways include:

  • ARRT Vascular Sonography: RT(S)(VS), RT(VS)
  • ARDMS: RVT, RDMS (various specialties), VT
  • CCI: RVS
