Sonographer

About This Role

This role involves performing high-quality and accurate diagnostic ultrasound images while interacting professionally with patients, physicians, and staff. The Sonographer maintains ultrasound equipment and applies knowledge of emergency protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality and accurate diagnostic ultrasound images
• Interact with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
• Maintain ultrasound equipment in optimum working condition
• Apply knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Medical Sonography or equivalent
• Willingness to participate in continuing education to remain current on technical advances
• Must be registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Registered in RDMS and RVT within 6 months of hire required
• Must maintain current CPR skills
• Strong anatomy and physiology background
• Ability to assess results, problem solve, and use independent judgment
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Proven ability to operate the following safely and efficiently: Ultrasound equipment, Fax, Telephone, PC, Printer, and Photocopier

Nice to have:

• Additional specialized training or at least one year of ultrasound experience
