Sommelier

About This Role

This role is for a sommelier who will join a young and dynamic team in an iconic luxury hotel overlooking the Gulf of Portofino. The ideal candidate is passionate and collaborative, aiming to develop their skills in a refined and stimulating environment to ensure a personalized and high-quality experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests during service
• Support the first maître d'hôtel in managing the dining room brigade in terms of rota, assigned roles, and internal mobility
• Manage the equipment provided for service and submit requisitions to the purchasing department
• Operationally monitor the correct application of high service standards (SLH and LQA) by the brigade and organize relevant training sessions
• Substitute for the first maître d'hôtel during weekly days off

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in the role in similar contexts (luxury hotels or fine dining)
• Good knowledge of service and quality standards related to luxury hotel industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professionalism, flexibility, and customer orientation
• Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of a second language will be considered a plus
• Own car or motorbike, residing in the neighboring areas
