About This Role
Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Sommelier provides expert guidance to guests, delivering an exceptional wine service experience that complements modern Italian cuisine. This role also supports the bar operation with confident bartending skills and knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and beverage service.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to guests, delivering an exceptional wine service experience that complements modern Italian cuisine
- Assist in maintaining the wine cellar, including stock control, storage, and inventory management
- Support the bar operation when required, demonstrating confident bartending skills and knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and beverage service
- Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, aperitifs, and other beverages to the highest service standards when supporting the bar team
- Collaborate closely with the Head Sommelier, bar team, and front-of-house staff to deliver excellence across the beverage program
- Enhance guests’ dining experiences through passion for wine, refined service, bartending ability, and deep product knowledge
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sommelier or Bartender in a similar high-end beverage service role within a luxury restaurant or hotel environment
- Previous bartending experience is required, with a strong understanding of cocktails, spirits, liqueurs, aperitifs, and general bar operations
- Strong knowledge of Italian wines and global wine regions
- Confident working across both wine and bar service, with the ability to move between sommelier and bartending responsibilities as required
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with confidence in collaborating effectively across restaurant and bar teams
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment
- High standard of professionalism, attention to detail, and service when working in both the restaurant and bar areas
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
