Solutions Engineer

About This Role

This role involves collaborating with the Go-To-Market team to identify and build optimal solutions for investment firms, primarily Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Private Credit Funds. The Solutions Engineer will act as an expert on Carta's product and service offerings, guiding new and established fund managers through fund formation and operational improvements using Carta's technology.

Responsibilities

• Impart confidence and gain trust from prospects in Carta's holistic fund administration solutions, accompanying the Go-To-Market team on calls to understand customer needs, scope solutions, and communicate business impact
• Partner closely with all team members of the Fund Admin team (particularly Delivery and Product teams) to lead the technical aspects of sales cycles and partnership conversations, covering product and fund accounting knowledge (such as waterfall, financial reporting, analytics)
• Interface (pre-sales) with prospects and strategic channel partners to scope requirements and build confidence in Carta's products
• Lead technical demos of Carta products
• Provide product and technical financial expertise to drive meaningful progress towards a team quarterly revenue goal
• Contribute to the Carta product roadmap based on in-depth conversations with prospects
• Partner closely with R&D, sales, and delivery leadership to achieve goals
• Provide technical coaching to all members of the Go-To-Market team as needed
• Support BD team at partner offsite seminars and events

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with 7+ years of experience in accounting or another relevant area such as corporate finance
• In-depth understanding of fund structures (Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Private Credit)
• Strong understanding of Venture Capital or Private Equity, ideally with regards to back office fund operations and fund administration
• Experience working in private markets within Luxembourg, including familiarity with Luxembourg fund structures and the local regulatory environment
• Proven track record of stakeholder management or client relationship management and excellent communication skills
• Interest in software products built to solve technical financial problems
• Interest in talking to prospective customers, helping them to build and solve their operational problems

Nice to have:

• Experience working in a SAAS customer-facing role
• Experience in a Fund Accounting / Fund Administration role
• Knowledge and experience of European Alternative Funds regulations
