Solar Groundman

About This Role

This role is responsible for vegetation maintenance and abatement at solar sites, ensuring the upkeep and appearance of outdoor environments, including grounds and landscaping. The position supports the Kansas South Solar Site.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vegetation maintenance and abatement on solar power generation plants
• Conduct routine maintenance and repair of vegetation management equipment including, but not limited to mowers, tractors, string-trimmers, hedge trimmers, rotary cutters, tractor implements, and hand tools
• Use various hand tools and gas-powered tools to mow and maintain grass, rake leaves and get grounds ready for seasonal changes
• Ensure that all co-workers and contractors demonstrate safe work practices during the performance of facilities management activities
• Ensure that assigned vehicle, tooling, electrical devices, software, and company property are maintained
• Maintain walkways, parking lots, and solar equipment by removing snow and ice

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• General mechanical aptitude
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Clear understanding of safe workplace practices and procedure
• Ability to travel to and from solar sites, work on-call during off-shift hours, and weekends

Nice to have:

• 1-2 years of similar facilities management experience
