About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer with expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, and Networking to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and OpenShift seamlessly integrate with the latest networking hardware such as SmartNICs and DPUs. Your primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between physical hardware and cloud-based software, ensuring a robust foundation for our enterprise solutions. You will spend your days developing and implementing code in languages like C, Python, or Go, troubleshooting hardware-software interactions, and automating repetitive tasks to enhance team efficiency. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore emerging AI technologies and incorporate them into our development processes to optimize workflows and drive innovation. This role offers a unique chance to work at the forefront of hardware-software integration, contributing to the stability and performance of critical enterprise systems.
Qualifications
- Solid proficiency in Linux, including familiarity with the terminal, kernel architecture, and device drivers
- Experience with networking concepts and hardware integration
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, Python, or Go
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity about hardware/software interactions
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues within large codebases
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with senior engineers
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift (preferred)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Ansible (preferred)
- Open source experience and contributions to projects like the OPI Project (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Write and implement high-quality, enterprise-grade code in C, Python, or Go to support hardware integration
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to hardware and OS communication, including driver and kernel-level problems
- Develop automation scripts to streamline testing, deployment, and other manual tasks, improving team productivity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into effective software solutions
- Research and incorporate emerging AI technologies to enhance development workflows and tooling
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration processes to ensure software quality
- Contribute to open source projects and stay updated on industry best practices
- Assist in documenting technical specifications and operational procedures
