Software Development Engineer, Cryptography and Identity Management

About This Role

This engineering role focuses on building and delivering the next generation of cloud computing security, specifically within cryptography and identity management. It involves innovating massively scalable distributed security systems, identity management, federation, and web services security. The position suits a software development engineer who enjoys working with internal and external customers, believes in the DevOps model, and thrives in an environment with empowered, world-class engineers.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal and external customers to execute projects and resolve issues
• Run operations in a developer-centric environment
• Continually improve how things are done
• Join a team of highly talented engineers operating Cryptography and Identity systems
• Have a direct impact on large-scale systems
• Work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services
• Dive deep into technical issues and improve the customer experience

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Nice to have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
