  • Monitor comments, messages, and community engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to increase audience reach and participation.

  • Obtain appropriate permissions/releases before publishing identifiable images or video of children and program participants.
  • Work with the Executive Director and program staff to identify stories and activities that should be promoted.
  • Assist with flyers, digital advertisements, newsletters, and other promotional materials as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM.
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing social media for a nonprofit, school, business, community organization, or similar organization.
  • Strong photography and video skills.
  • Experience creating short-form video content.
  • Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Cloud, or comparable content-creation tools.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Understanding of social media trends and audience engagement.
  • Creative, dependable, and able to work independently.
  • Interest in STEM, education, science, technology, agriculture, or community development is strongly preferred.

Performance Expectations

The coordinator should consistently produce original, high-quality content and maintain an active online presence. Success will be measured by consistency of posting, quality of content, audience engagement, reach, follower growth, event promotion, and the organization's overall digital visibility.
