SOC Analyst

About This Role

This SOC Analyst role involves regularly monitoring system and network security, identifying and analyzing suspicious activities, and escalating security incidents. The position suits a detail-oriented individual with good analytical skills who is able to work in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular monitoring of system and network security using security tools such as SIEM, Firewall, EDR, and IDS/IPS
• Identify and analyze suspicious activities and potential cyber threats
• Perform initial checks on security alerts to distinguish real threats from false positives
• Document monitoring results and create security incident reports
• Escalate security incidents to the relevant team for further handling
• Work in shifts to support 24/7 system security monitoring

Requirements

• Minimum D3/S1 in Informatics Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, especially those with practical experience or a portfolio in cybersecurity
• Understand computer network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, and the OSI model
• Have a basic understanding of cyber threats such as phishing, brute force, and malware
• Basic knowledge of SIEM, Firewall, EDR, or IDS/IPS is a plus
• Having or pursuing cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps Associate, or Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) is a plus
• Willing to work in shifts, including nights and weekends
• Meticulous, possess good analytical skills, and able to work collaboratively in a team
