About the role
Glenbrook North High School is currently seeking applicants to fill a Snowball Coordinator position for the 2026–2027 school year.
Operation Snowball is a retreat-based student organization at GBN dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyle choices, mental health awareness, leadership development, effective communication skills, and a supportive school community among students and staff.
The Adult Director works collaboratively with fellow adult and student directors to plan, organize, and implement club programming throughout the academic year, including the annual Operation Snowball retreat.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the director team to develop and facilitate student leadership trainings
- Plan and coordinate club meetings and related activities
- Recruit students and staff to participate in the annual retreat
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding program details
- Coordinate logistics with YMCA camp personnel and other vendors
- Order, manage, and organize program materials and supplies
- Provide supervision and oversight during all club events and the annual retreat
- Support additional planning and operational needs as assigned
Adult Directors are responsible for supervising the annual Operation Snowball retreat, a three-day, two-night event held each November at a YMCA camp in Wisconsin. The retreat typically serves up to 125 students and requires active participation, supervision, and leadership throughout the duration of the event.
This position may require a staff member who can provide supervision in a gender-specific environment, which may be considered a bona fide occupational qualification under applicable law.
The 0.5 FTE (annual) stipend for this position is based on District 225's Discretionary stipend amount of $1,119.62. To learn more about D225's compensation and benefits package, please visit our website. This position is not eligible for benefits.
