Job Description Join Our Team as a Sterility Expert (SME) in Uppsala, Sweden – Lead the Transition to Pharmaceutical Excellence Are you a seasoned expert in sterilisation and quality assurance with a passion for advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing? We are seeking a highly skilled SME, Sterility Expert to play a pivotal role in supporting a leading cosmetic manufacturer’s transition into pharmaceutical production. This on-site opportunity in Uppsala offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly impact compliance, process improvements, and operational excellence during a critical phase of transformation.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with laboratory teams and quality professionals to optimise sterilisation processes, enhance GMP adherence, and ensure regulatory compliance following recent FDA inspection setbacks. Your expertise will help shape the future of this company’s pharmaceutical journey, making a tangible difference in product quality and safety.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive experience in sterilisation, sterilisation processes, and related quality assurance within GMP environments
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing standards and regulatory compliance
- Proven expertise in process improvement and laboratory operations
- Familiarity with GMP regulations and quality control procedures
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced setting
Nice To Have Skills
- Fluency in Swedish and English (though English language proficiency is essential)
- Experience supporting companies through regulatory inspections and transitions
- Background in the cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry
Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or a related field
- Demonstrated senior-level experience (Senior Manager or above) in sterilisation, quality assurance, or GMP compliance
- Previous involvement in transitioning processes from cosmetic to pharmaceutical manufacturing is advantageous
Other Requirements
- Fully on-site role in Uppsala – minimal remote working
- Contract duration of 4 months with a likely extension
- Ability to start as soon as possible
- Capacity to support the project at a senior expert level, with a focus on delivering immediate impact
