About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SmartDX/Thunderhead and Xceptor Technical Consultant to support the enhancement, upgrade and migration of a capital-markets trade-confirmation platform within the back-office environment. The consultant will be responsible for confirmation-template development, system configuration, document-generation rules, testing, data migration and reconciliation. The role requires strong hands-on platform expertise combined with a good understanding of trade-confirmation and post-trade processes.
Responsibilities
- Create, configure and enhance existing trade-confirmation templates.
- Implement document-generation logic, business rules and automation requirements.
- Configure and support SmartDX/Thunderhead and Xceptor components.
- Maintain static/reference data, template libraries and document-generation configurations.
- Analyse the existing platform and provide configuration details required for new-system development.
- Support SmartDX platform upgrades, including impact assessment, configuration updates and regression testing.
- Configure Xceptor workflows for data ingestion, transformation, validation and exception management.
- Work with operations, business analysts and technology teams to understand confirmation-processing requirements.
- Prepare SIT and UAT test plans, scenarios, test cases and supporting test data.
- Investigate defects and coordinate their resolution with business and technical teams.
- Support the migration of templates, static data, configuration and transactional information to the new platform.
- Perform reconciliation and validation to confirm the accuracy, integrity and completeness of migrated data.
- Produce configuration documents, data-mapping specifications, reconciliation reports and operational procedures.
- Provide production support, troubleshooting and knowledge transfer where required.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with SmartDX/Thunderhead, including template configuration and document generation.
- Practical experience configuring Xceptor data-processing and workflow solutions.
- Knowledge of capital-markets trade confirmations and back-office operations.
- Experience managing confirmation templates, static data and business rules.
- Strong understanding of data extraction, transformation, validation, matching and reconciliation.
- Experience supporting platform upgrades and system migrations.
- Strong SIT and UAT experience, including test-case preparation and defect management.
- Ability to analyse existing configurations and translate them into requirements for a new platform.
- Working knowledge of XML, structured and unstructured data, SQL, APIs and common financial-data formats.
- Understanding of auditability, data lineage, operational controls and regulatory requirements.
- Strong stakeholder-management, documentation and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multiple capital-markets products, such as FX, fixed income, securities or OTC derivatives.
- Previous involvement in a trade-confirmation platform replacement or modernisation programme.
- Experience integrating SmartDX or Xceptor with trading, settlement or downstream banking systems.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and regulated banking environments.
