About the role
- On-site at an Alpha campus in Miami, FL, or New York City, NY — relocation assistance available
When students struggle, most schools reduce expectations. You take the opposite approach.
You believe young learners are capable of achieving far more than conventional classrooms demand of them, and you've led teams that demonstrate this belief through quantifiable results. You understand that accountability, high standards, and intrinsic motivation transform lives in ways no additional worksheet can.
Alpha completes academics in just two morning hours using adaptive learning technology. This structure allows you to concentrate on the work with the greatest long-term impact: developing Guides who facilitate student growth while coaching students to become self-directed learners. You will be accountable for outcomes within a K-3 cohort, leveraging observation, data, and coaching to ensure every child learns at twice the typical rate, loves attending school, and builds outstanding life skills.
This role differs from both instructional coach and principal positions. Your days won't be consumed by paperwork or meetings. Instead, you'll spend time in classrooms, evaluating Guide and student performance, leading workshops on focus, resilience, communication, and accountability, and coaching children and adults toward documented improvement.
Your impact will extend beyond your cohort. You'll capture what produces results, create playbooks that elevate standards schoolwide, and influence how Alpha trains future Guides. If you're motivated by developing people, scaling excellence, and demonstrating that outstanding outcomes follow when expectations remain high, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Use classroom observations, performance data, and direct feedback to coach Guides and students toward measurable improvement.
- Design and facilitate compelling workshops for K-3 students that build life skills including focus, accountability, collaboration, resilience, and communication.
- Conduct one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions that link student motivation with academic independence and growth.
- Create and iterate on repeatable coaching playbooks that improve Guide team performance.
- Mentor and train Guides while demonstrating exceptional facilitation and coaching daily.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Providing traditional classroom instruction or delivering academic lectures; core academics are managed through adaptive technology.
- Using punishment to manage discipline or reducing expectations when students face challenges.
- Working from an office rather than engaging directly with Guides and students daily.
- Managing campus operations, parent communications, or budgets; your emphasis is on outcome improvement and people development.
- Adhering to conventional elementary school methods simply because "that's the way it's always been done."
Site Director Key Responsibilities Fulfill Alpha's three promises for every K-3 student by cultivating highly motivated students, high-performing Guides, and a coaching culture that reliably delivers exceptional life and academic outcomes.
