About This Role
Driving a shuttle bus to transport customers to and from a facility is the main task of this role. The Shuttle Driver will operate the vehicle safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and will also assist passengers with loading and unloading.
Responsibilities
- Drive shuttle bus and transport customers to and from the facility
- Greet passengers and provide assistance with loading and unloading
- Operate the shuttle bus in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all traffic and safety regulations
- Monitor vehicle condition and record malfunctioning items or damage on appropriate forms
- Communicate with dispatchers, drivers and other employees using a two-way radio system to communicate routes, announcing arrivals and delays, coordinating the pick-up of customers, or handling other vehicle or customer issues that arise
- Conduct pre/post trip inspections of the shuttle buses at the beginning and end of shift to ensure sound operating conditions
- Monitor traffic and weather conditions and notify dispatch or supervisor of potential problems
- Report accidents or other safety situations to dispatch or supervisor
- Treat all customers in a courteous, friendly and professional manner
- Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs
Requirements
- At least 20 years old
- Valid driver's license and have been driving for at least 3 years
- Ability to operate a passenger van safely and efficiently
- Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends
- Energetic, outgoing and can stand, run, and carry items, up to 50lbs, if needed
- Great communicator in both written and spoken language, with a friendly, professional approach to everyone you meet
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can help resolve customer issues in a positive and helpful way
Nice to have:
- 1+ year of customer service experience
- 1+ year of experience driving a shuttle bus or commercial vehicle
