About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Shopify Developer to join our dynamic team remotely, with initial training at our office in Coimbatore. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in building, customizing, and optimizing Shopify stores, particularly Shopify 2.0. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creative UI/UX implementation, and strategic SEO knowledge to create compelling, conversion-focused eCommerce solutions. As a Senior Shopify Developer at Backdropsource India, you will be responsible for transforming design mockups into responsive, pixel-perfect storefronts, integrating third-party tools, and ensuring optimal performance across multiple international markets. Your contributions will directly impact our clients’ online success by delivering seamless shopping experiences and improved organic visibility.

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of professional experience in Shopify development, with a strong portfolio of live projects.
• Proficiency in Shopify Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Experience converting Figma designs into pixel-perfect Shopify themes.
• Familiarity with Shopify APIs, Metafields, and custom app integrations.
• Solid understanding of technical SEO, structured data/schema markup, and website performance optimization.
• Experience managing international Shopify stores, including localization and Shopify Markets.
• Knowledge of Agentic SEO, Generative Engine Optimization, and LLM-powered search platforms.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proactive ownership mindset.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including design, marketing, and SEO specialists.

Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify 2.0 themes and storefronts to meet client specifications and industry best practices.
• Translate Figma mockups into responsive, pixel-perfect Shopify pages optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Create modern, conversion-oriented UI/UX designs that enhance user engagement and sales performance.
• Utilize Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and Shopify APIs to build and enhance storefront functionalities.
• Customize themes, sections, templates, product pages, collections, shopping carts, and other storefront components.
• Integrate and troubleshoot third-party Shopify Apps, APIs, payment gateways, marketing tools, and analytics platforms.
• Perform technical SEO audits, resolve crawlability, indexing, canonical issues, and implement structured data/schema markup.
• Optimize page load times, Core Web Vitals, and overall site performance to meet industry standards.
• Manage multiple international stores, ensuring localization, compliance, and effective use of Shopify Markets.
• Debug, test, and ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility for all storefronts.
• Collaborate with design, SEO, marketing, and ecommerce teams to enhance conversion rates, user experience, and organic search visibility.
• Stay updated with the latest Shopify features, SEO trends, and AI search optimization techniques to ensure store competitiveness.
