About This Role
Developing and customizing Shopify themes is the core of this role, ensuring a responsive and optimized storefront for mobile users, especially those coming from social media. The developer will also integrate and manage Shopify apps, optimize site performance, and collaborate on conversion rate optimization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Build custom sections and templates tailored to fashion and apparel merchandising
- Ensure the storefront is perfectly responsive and optimized for mobile users, specifically aligning with social media traffic (e.g., traffic driven from Meta ads and Instagram Reels)
- Evaluate, install, and customize Shopify apps (e.g., reviews, loyalty programs, size guides, inventory management)
- Ensure apps do not negatively impact page load speeds
- Continuously monitor and improve site speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall technical performance to reduce bounce rates and improve SEO
- Collaborate with the marketing team to build custom landing pages for campaigns, optimize the checkout flow, and implement A/B testing elements
- Assist with the technical implementation of tracking pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4) to ensure accurate measurement of Return on Ad Spend (ROAS)
- Identify and resolve bugs, cross-browser compatibility issues, and frontend glitches promptly
Requirements
- 2+ years of proven experience in Shopify development, with a strong portfolio of live Shopify stores
- Expert-level knowledge of Shopify's templating language (Liquid)
- Proficiency in frontend technologies: HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript (Vanilla JS, jQuery, or modern frameworks like Vue/React)
- Experience working with the Shopify Storefront API and Admin API
- Strong eye for UI/UX principles, particularly in the fashion/apparel sector, with the ability to translate Figma/Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect code
- Understanding of basic technical SEO, digital marketing tools, and ad tracking integrations
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and find creative solutions to technical constraints within the Shopify ecosystem
- English and Hindi language skills
