About This Role
Developing and optimizing Shopify storefronts for D2C brands is the core of this role, delivering new features and customizations across multiple stores. The developer builds reliable, scalable solutions for merchant workflows and customer experience. This client-facing role involves understanding business requirements, communicating progress, and collaborating with designers, marketers, and other developers.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Shopify storefronts for multiple client accounts
- Build and customize Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes, sections, templates, and reusable components
- Customize Shopify themes while maintaining clean, reusable, and scalable code
- Build and maintain custom Shopify apps or app features when required
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and compatibility problems
- Optimize storefront speed, responsiveness, and overall user experience
- Communicate directly with clients to gather requirements, provide updates, and resolve technical queries
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and internal teams to deliver projects within deadlines
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional Shopify development experience
- Strong experience with Shopify Online Store 2.0, Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and responsive web development
- Experience working with Shopify Admin APIs (REST & GraphQL), third-party integrations, and reusable Shopify theme components
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with Git in a collaborative development environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple client projects and deliver on deadlines
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a remote team
Nice to have:
- Experience building Shopify Apps and Shopify Functions
- Experience with React, Next.js, or Remix
- Basic understanding of Node.js and API development
- Knowledge of storefront performance optimization and CRO principles
