Shipping & Receiving Clerk

About This Role

Shipping and Receiving Clerks are the first point of contact for drivers, playing a key role in ensuring shipments arrive and leave smoothly. This position suits an organized, detail-oriented individual who enjoys multitasking and contributing to efficient operations within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct drivers, signing them in/out, verifying paperwork, and assigning dock doors for inbound and outbound loads
• Keep trailer inventory accurate with real-time updates on doors and yard reports
• Coordinate yard moves with spotters to ensure smooth yard activity, directing moves for the spotter/yard jockey
• Process Bills of Lading and reconcile shipments with packing slips
• Maintain accurate schedules, door reports, and trailer inventory
• Deliver great customer service as the friendly face of the facility for both internal and external customers
• Match inbounds with packing slips and manage drop lot activity
• Maintain inbound and outbound schedules to keep operations seamless
• Report discrepancies to leadership to ensure everything runs smoothly
• Work closely with shift management and leads to hit shift goals
• Actively participate in training programs
• Perform all tasks safely and on time
• Take on additional duties as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Tech-savvy
• Detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team player who works well with others to achieve shift goals
• Reliable

• Familiarity with Blue Yonder/Korber/AS400 or warehouse management systems
