Shipping Materials Coordinator

About This Role

This role involves coordinating both domestic and international shipments, utilizing an ERP system, and performing various materials handling tasks within a warehouse setting. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts and ensuring the quality of internal shipments.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate shipments, both domestic and international, using Oracle Cloud
• Act as backup shipping resource, becoming the primary shipping resource as needed
• Utilize knowledge of receiving and/or distribution and packaging equipment to perform a variety of materials handling tasks
• Use judgment requiring location and storage of items, proper packaging, methods of movement of materials, and release of materials
• Work effectively in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives
• Perform the physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment
• Perform a variety of coordinating, routing and material handling duties
• Unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintain records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items
• Handle a variety of packages and parts, lifting or moving 5-45 lbs
• Lift heavy items and may operate a forklift
• Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped
• Post weights and shipping charges and prepare goods for final shipment
• Examine, stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines
• Emphasize material coordination
• Visually inspect for defects or damage per Quality Control documents
• Support Quality Alert process for internal and external customer complaints, quality issues, corrective and preventative actions
• Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
• Keep accurate logs (both written and on computer)
• Coordinate and/or execute special projects as required by the Department
• Conduct daily cycle counts to maintain accurate inventories
• Ensure internal shipments/Kitting is accurate and free of damage
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area
• Proactively identify and report safety and complaint concerns
• Finish work in a timely manner
• Contribute to the development of techniques, processes, and practices that advance the effectiveness of the organization or function

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a material handling role in a warehouse setting
