Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping Manager to lead our logistics and distribution operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end shipping processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of shipping logistics, including freight, transportation management systems, and international trade compliance to ensure seamless delivery processes.
- Oversee warehouse distribution activities, including inventory management systems, stock control, and materials handling to maximize operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with procurement, sourcing, and vendor management teams to optimize sourcing strategies, pricing negotiations, and category management initiatives.
- Utilize data analysis skills and tools such as Tableau, SQL, Excel data analysis, and spreadsheets to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze supply chain data, and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Lead warehouse operations related to shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, dispatching, and manual handling while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production planning, demand planning, customer service, and logistics management to streamline processes and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for shipping delays or issues; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence; participate in continuous process improvement initiatives using tools like ERP systems (e.g., AS400) and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Requirements
- Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a strong background in warehouse experience, inventory control, and logistics management.
- Extensive knowledge of transportation planning systems such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP systems like AS400 or equivalent, and inventory management systems.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, procurement processes, freight management including NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), and trade compliance regulations.
- Proficiency with data collection tools such as SQL, Excel data analysis techniques, Microsoft Office Suite, and supply chain analytics platforms like Tableau.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment such as forklifts is preferred; certification is a plus.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for demand planning, pricing strategies, and process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration across departments including customer service teams and vendor partners.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
