Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shift Manager to lead our retail team through dynamic daily operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee store activities, ensure exceptional customer service, and manage team performance to drive sales and operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily store operations, including opening, closing, and shift transitions, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, pricing accuracy, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities
- Manage customer interactions with professionalism and enthusiasm, resolving issues promptly to enhance satisfaction
- Handle payroll processing, cash handling, POS system operations, and bookkeeping tasks with accuracy and integrity
- Coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships to ensure product availability and optimal inventory levels
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires, participate in recruiting efforts, and facilitate employee orientation programs
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience within the retail industry or similar fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of retail sales techniques, inventory control, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, team management, training & development, and operational management
- Basic math proficiency for sales calculations, pricing adjustments, budgeting, and bookkeeping tasks
- Experience with grocery or retail store product knowledge is a plus
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a busy setting while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Familiarity with retail industry software tools such as POS systems and inventory management platforms
