Sheet Metal Worker

About This Role

This role involves working with sheet metal components and finished goods, operating shears and metal stamping presses, and performing spot welding operations. The position suits a detail-oriented individual who can ensure quality standards are met and contribute to continual improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Sheer, bend, spot weld sheet metal components and finished goods
• Run metal stamping presses as needed
• Operate shears to cut sheet metal stock to specified dimensions according to job specifications
• Perform spot welding operations to join sheet metal components, ensuring proper weld strength and placement
• Ensure quality standards are met to customer expectations and internal guidelines
• Provide for the fabrication of all finished goods and their sub-assemblies as accomplished by, but not limited to: wire stripping, crimping, soldering, polishing, cleaning, inspecting, assembling, testing and packing
• Support company in continual improvement initiatives
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace
• Work in other departments when needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written oral instructions
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Must be able to count accurately
• Ability to get along in a team environment and follow all safety procedures
• Work authorization: United States
