About This Role
Working on wind turbines, both onshore and offshore, is the core of this technician role, which involves installation, maintenance, and repair of the systems. The position suits an experienced professional with a background in electrical or mechanical systems and a passion for renewable energy.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of wind turbine systems, including both onshore and offshore locations
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in wind turbines
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure continued optimal performance of wind turbines
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures during onshore and offshore work activities
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget constraints
- Coordinate with site managers to ensure proper communication of progress reports and updates
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes through feedback, innovation, and efficiency improvements
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry best practices
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a wind turbine technician or in an electrical/mechanical position in a related industry
- SGRE experience and training profile
- Basic understanding of hydraulic systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel extensively across the US for various projects onshore and offshore
- Valid driver's license along with a clean driving record
- Physically capable of performing demanding tasks such as climbing wind turbine towers multiple times per day, lifting heavy equipment, or working outdoors in adverse weather conditions
