Job Title: Consultant Software Engineer - Service Now Discovery Infra Administrator
Job Summary
The ServiceNow Discovery Administrator is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the ServiceNow Discovery module to ensure accurate and efficient asset discovery and integration with the CMDB. This role involves managing both agentless and agent based discovery setups, overseeing MID Server installations, and troubleshooting discovery related issues in collaboration with other technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain the ServiceNow Discovery platform.
- Manage agentless and agent based discovery setup and configurations.
- Install, configure, and manage ServiceNow MID Servers.
- Ensure proper integration between Discovery and the ServiceNow CMDB.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Discovery issues, coordinating investigations and solutions with other team
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery administration and configuration.
- Experience in CMDB management, CI reconciliation, and dependency mapping.
- Expertise in configuring and managing MID Servers.
- Knowledge of agentless and agent-based discovery methodologies.
- Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix servers, network devices, and cloud environments.
- Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, SNMP, WMI, SSH, and TCP/IP.
- Experience troubleshooting Discovery patterns, schedules, credentials, and scanning issues.
- Good knowledge of ITSM processes and ServiceNow platform administration.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
