About This Role
Designing, building, and enhancing AI-powered applications and workflows on the ServiceNow platform is the core of this developer role. The position covers end-to-end development across server-side and client-side scripting, Flow Designer automation, and secure integrations. You will implement and operationalize ServiceNow AI capabilities such as Now Assist, AI Search, and Virtual Agent, including GenAI prompt design and grounding strategies.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance AI-powered applications and workflows on the ServiceNow platform
- Cover end-to-end development across server-side and client-side scripting, Flow Designer automation, and secure integrations using REST/SOAP and IntegrationHub
- Implement and operationalize ServiceNow AI capabilities such as Now Assist, AI Search, and Virtual Agent, including GenAI prompt design and grounding strategies
- Own data modeling, ACL security, UI experiences, debugging, and adherence to coding standards, update sets, and source control
- Collaborate with product owners and platform teams to deliver reusable, scalable, and secure solutions
Requirements
- Strong ServiceNow development experience: Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI Policies, Data Policies, ACLs
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6): functions, arrays, objects, callbacks/promises, error handling, and debugging
- Hands-on with Glide APIs: GlideRecord, GlideSystem, GlideDateTime, GlideAggregate, GlideAjax
- Server-side and client-side ServiceNow scripting, including synchronous/asynchronous processing
- Flow Designer expertise: flows, subflows, actions, approvals, triggers, data pills, error handling
- Integration experience: REST APIs, SOAP basics, REST Message, Scripted REST APIs, JSON/XML, authentication methods
- ServiceNow AI: Now Assist, AI Search, Virtual Agent, GenAI prompts and AI-powered workflows
- IntegrationHub: spokes, REST integrations, reusable actions
- Application development: custom tables, fields, forms, lists, modules, scoped applications
- UI development: UI Builder basics, Service Portal basics, client-side customization
- Data and security modeling: tables, relationships, reference fields, ACLs, roles, users/groups
- Debugging and troubleshooting: system logs, Script Debugger, JavaScript debugging, flows and integrations
- Development practices: update sets, source control basics, application scopes, reusable code, coding standards
- AI/GenAI development: prompt design, grounding/context, AI-generated responses, AI workflow automation, and integrating AI with ServiceNow
