Senior/Staff Controls Engineer (Core Development)

• Controllers are critical for our autonomy system. We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer. In this impactful role, you will collaborate with best-in-class engineers to tackle challenging problems and help advance the future of robotics to improve everyday lives
• Develop robust, reliable and optimized production-level control software following safety standards (ISO 26262)
• Develop proper and robust coupling mechanisms between planner and controller for expanded ODD including parking lot maneuvers through highway driving under various weather conditions and road surfaces
• Investigate Machine Learning for vehicle dynamics and feedback policy to improve vehicle performance, drivability and reduced time for new vehicle platform bringups
• Develop vehicle motion monitors to monitor trajectory tracking and actuator control performance for meeting functional safety requirements
• Collaborate closely with engineers across hardware, base software, upstream autonomy, vehicle testing and system teams

• Fast to learn new areas and adapt quickly to new problems
• MS in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, robotics, or closely related fields with focus on Controls
• Proven ability to collaborate within and across teams
• L4 automated driving system development experience
• Powertrain and/or chassis controls experience
• ASPICE experience
• Functional safety experience
