As a Senior Business Analyst, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, QA engineers, and platform teams to deliver complex enterprise integration solutions. The role focuses on translating business needs into clear, testable, and traceable requirements, with a strong emphasis on API integrations, system-to-system communication, and document management platforms. You will play a key role in defining requirements, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring solutions align with business objectives, architectural standards, and regulatory requirements.
A typical day might include the following:
- Elicit, analyze, challenge, and document business requirements, transforming them into functional and technical specifications.
- Define user stories, business rules, acceptance criteria, exception scenarios, and non-functional requirements.
- Analyze system interactions, dependencies, integration flows, and data exchanges across enterprise platforms.
- Define and review requirements for REST APIs and SOAP services, including payloads, validations, error handling, and integration patterns.
- Create source-to-target mappings, document JSON/XML structures, and define transformation and validation rules.
- Analyze document-centric processes, including document upload, retrieval, versioning, metadata management, lifecycle management, and access controls.
- Prepare process flows, context diagrams, sequence diagrams, and integration models to support solution design and delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, QA Engineers, Security, and Operations teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support backlog refinement, estimation sessions, sprint planning, and dependency management activities.
- Define test scenarios and support API, integration, system, and UAT validation activities.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability between business requirements, solution design decisions, development activities, and testing outcomes.
- Assess change impacts across applications, integrations, data contracts, and operational processes.
- Support release readiness activities and ensure requirements are fully understood and implemented.
- Create and maintain project documentation, requirements repositories, and knowledge-sharing materials using Jira and Confluence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and leverage approved AI tools to enhance analysis, documentation, and requirement validation activities.
To ensure success in this role, you need the following experience and skills:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT, Business Analysis, or related domains.
- Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis experience supporting enterprise applications or complex digital platforms.
- Experience analyzing and defining requirements for enterprise integrations, APIs, and system-to-system communication.
- Strong expertise in requirements elicitation, analysis, decomposition, traceability, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to define functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, acceptance criteria, and exception flows.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, XML, SOAP, and enterprise integration concepts.
- Experience reviewing API specifications and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
- Knowledge of synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven, and messaging-based integration patterns.
- Experience performing source-to-target mappings and defining data transformation and validation rules.
- Understanding of document management concepts, metadata, document lifecycle, retention, records management, and access controls.
- Experience with OpenText Documentum, OpenText Content Management, OpenText REST Services, or similar ECM platforms is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Solution Architects and understand architectural constraints and integration boundaries.
- Working knowledge of security concepts such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, API authentication, authorization, and auditability.
- Experience defining and validating non-functional requirements related to security, performance, resiliency, availability, and supportability.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and API testing tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting integration testing, system testing, and UAT activities.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with business, technical, and executive-level stakeholders.
