Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior SQL Developer to support large-scale enterprise application development and production support initiatives within an Automotive Finance environment. This role will lead the design, development, optimization, deployment, and ongoing support of Microsoft SQL Server database solutions while ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and regulatory compliance across mission-critical systems.

The ideal candidate combines deep SQL Server expertise with strong production support experience, database engineering skills, performance tuning capabilities, and the ability to work across cross-functional development, DevOps, and business teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead SQL application development and production support for multiple enterprise systems
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable Microsoft SQL Server database solutions
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, SSIS packages, and database objects
• Perform advanced SQL performance tuning including query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and database optimization
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement permanent solutions to improve system stability
• Monitor and optimize batch processing jobs to improve throughput, reliability, and execution performance
• Perform impact analysis across enterprise applications and downstream data dependencies
• Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, auditability, and quality controls across critical business processes
• Produce technical documentation including design documents, estimates, testing artifacts, and operational procedures
• Automate monitoring, alerting, deployment, and operational processes to improve reliability
• Participate in on-call production support and incident response while meeting established SLA requirements
• Support change management, release management, SOX compliance, and audit readiness activities
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, DevOps teams, QA teams, and business stakeholders
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote SQL development best practices
• Support CI/CD pipelines, version control, and enterprise deployment processes

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7–10+ years of SQL development and database engineering experience
• 10+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server development experience preferred
• Advanced expertise with T-SQL, SQL Server, SSIS, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and indexing
• Strong SQL performance tuning, query optimization, execution plan analysis, and database performance troubleshooting experience
• Experience supporting enterprise production systems under SLA-driven support models
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall software development methodologies
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, OLTP databases, and data warehouse concepts
• Experience with batch processing systems and large-scale transactional databases
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or similar version control and CI/CD platforms
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Stable work history within large enterprise organizations
• Backend Batch Experience

Desired Skills
• Experience within the Automotive Finance industry
• Understanding of loan origination, servicing, collections, accounting, and end-of-term processing
• Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud or Marketing Cloud
• Exposure to AWS cloud technologies
• Experience with SSRS, Power BI, or enterprise reporting platforms
• Experience with DevOps automation and deployment pipelines
• Experience supporting SOX, audit, and regulatory compliance initiatives
• 3+ years of Big 4 consulting experience preferred
