Senior Specialist, Technical Evaluations & Proposals

About This Role

This role is an integral member of the Commercial Operations team, responsible for generating proposals across various franchises, from budgetary estimates to detailed work statements. The Senior Specialist will work with subject matter experts globally to assess technical fit for customer requirements and deliver high-quality proposals with strong technical and commercial value propositions. This position partners with Sales & Business Development to close business and is responsible for generating approved program pricing and timelines using costing and timeline tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate RFI/RFPs and discuss with prospective customers to ensure technical understanding of needs and develop appropriate proposal strategies
• Generate detailed proposals across advanced R&D, Technology Platforms, Process and Analytical Development, and GMP manufacturing (Drug Substance, Drug Product) for Biologics and Small Molecules (Drug Product only) to support clinical and commercial needs
• Support revising scope with subject matter experts and drive programs from proposal to contract signature
• Work with Sales & Business Management and Commercial Development to determine program pricing that ensures proper profitability
• Understand and incorporate contractual terms along with exceptional proposal development skills
• Proactively manage the proposal pipeline while managing critical proposal development processes
• Deliver against commitments to manage customer expectations for proposals and estimates
• Evaluate and conduct projects as assigned by manager for technical evaluation and proposal processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with costing and pricing analysis for opportunity funnel

Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of Biologics and/or Sterile Drug Product manufacturing and drug development lifecycle
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Self-disciplined, demands high-quality results and able to multi-task effectively
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix-team environment
• Proactive and able to effectively prioritize in an entrepreneurial environment
• Proficient in MS Word and/or MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
• Ability to travel (10%) and work non-standard hours (flexible management)

Nice to have:

• 2-4 years of bio/pharmaceutical R&D and/or manufacturing industry experience, CDMO
• 0-3 years of technical evaluation & proposals experience
• Salesforce CRM experience
• Previous experience in a customer facing role
