Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Software Engineer Senior to join our ever-evolving Alternative Payment Methods delivery team and help us unleash the potential of every business.
What you’ll own
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and run scalable, highly available microservices for APM.
- Lead and contribute to system design: define service boundaries, data models, APIs, SLAs/SLOs, and integration patterns.
- Accelerate time-to-market by simplifying architectures, reducing toil, and maximizing automation across CI/CD, testing, infrastructure, and operations.
- Prototype and validate new approaches and integrations; productionize successful experiments.
- Participate in the production support rota (on-call), ensuring robust observability, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
- Instrument services and build tooling to enable data-driven decisions.
- Contribute to architecture, design reviews, performance, security, and reliability work.
- Collaborate across teams on technology choices, patterns, and shared components to avoid duplication and speed delivery.
- Coach and review work of less experienced engineers.
What you'll bring
- Strong experience building and operating large-scale cloud microservices
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Docker
- Solid TDD and automated testing practice; quality-first, test-first mindset
- Strong system design skills for distributed systems (fault tolerance, partitioning, consistency models, idempotency, retries/backoff, timeouts, circuit breakers)
- Track record of improving developer productivity and release velocity (e.g., CI/CD optimizations, tooling, automation)
- Comfortable with Agile delivery and continuous improvement
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
It’s a bonus if you have
- Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift
- Kafka or other messaging systems
- Payments domain experience (cards, APMs, scheme integrations)
- PCI-DSS exposure
