Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

Working on compliant, production-ready software for healthcare companies worldwide is the core of this Senior Ruby on Rails Developer role. You will join an AI-first team that actively tests and adopts new tools and workflows, contributing to both client projects and in-house products, including open-source work. This position involves communicating directly with clients and shaping technical solutions from concept to delivery, developing your skills in a sector where quality, security, and compliance truly matter.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop web applications using Ruby on Rails, including relational database architecture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
• Write automated tests that ensure reliability and cover edge cases
• Resolve bugs and optimize application performance
• Review code to the same standard, regardless of whether it was written by a person or AI
• Contribute to defining and improving internal standards for maintainability and coding style
• Communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements, discuss technical approaches, and demonstrate your work
• Evaluate new tools and workflows, sharing insights with the team when you identify improvements

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience working with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Strong expertise in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, with practical experience using non-relational databases, caching systems, and message brokers
• Proven experience with client communication methods including REST API and WebSockets, plus authentication approaches such as JWT, cookie-based authentication, and OAuth
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment tools, Docker, and Git
• Solid understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles applied in practice
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests using RSpec or similar frameworks
• Ability to contribute to architectural decisions based on business, functional, and non-functional requirements, with consideration for scalability
• Daily use of AI tools and the ability to critically assess AI-generated code
• Enthusiasm for code review, both providing and receiving constructive feedback
• Fluent English with confidence communicating directly with clients during calls, demos, and technical discussions
• Fluent Polish for internal team communication
• Genuine interest in HealthTech and working on projects where quality, security, and compliance are essential

Nice to have:

• Experience with a JavaScript framework such as Vue or React
• Familiarity with AWS or a comparable cloud platform
