Onyx Construction Services is immediately retaining a technically precise, commercially sharp Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil) to join our commercial management division in Sohar (Al Tareeq St, Sohar 311). This permanent, full-time position awards an all-inclusive, tax-free contract of OMR 2,100 per month, heavily supplemented by premium regional housing allocations, mobilization subsidies, and comprehensive private medical coverage.

As an elite tier-1 contractor managing massive industrial, infrastructure, and civil engineering assets across the Al Batinah North region, our commercial division demands a professional who can strictly control project cash flows, protect gross margins, and neutralize contractual risk from groundbreaking to final account closure.

Core Areas of Commercial Accountability

• Cost Planning & Valuation: Execute high-fidelity cost estimations, budget forecasting, and detailed variations analysis for multi-million OMR civil engineering, earthworks, and structural concrete developments.
• BOQ Interpretation & Formulation: Formulate and audit highly accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) in strict accordance with standard methods of measurement (POMI / CESMM4) to optimize tendering packages.
• Subcontractor Procurement & Evaluation: Manage the complete subcontractor commercial lifecycle, including initial pre-qualification weight matrices, technical commercial comparisons, and contract award configurations.
• Progress Valuations & Claims: Direct monthly physical site measurements, evaluate interim payment applications, and draft robust, legally sound documentation for contract variations and extension-of-time (EOT) claims.
• Final Account Settlement: Spearhead complex commercial negotiations with client representatives, sub-tier contractors, and engineering consultants to close out final accounts with zero margin erosion.

Professional & Technical Requirements

Navigating this heavy civil infrastructure portfolio requires a dedicated professional bringing a minimum of 6 to 8 years of progressive, stable experience working as a civil quantity surveyor specifically embedded with major main contractors or top-tier international cost consultancies in the GCC region.

• Academic Foundation: A formal bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Commercial Management is mandatory.
• Professional Affiliation: Active RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) chartership or progressive steps toward MRICS designation will be highly valued.
• System Capabilities: Full operational fluency in advanced measurement software (such as CostX, PlanSwift, or Candy) alongside expert-level engineering data manipulation in Microsoft Excel.
