Senior Production Artist

About This Role

This role involves bridging the gap between design and final artwork for suppliers, translating design concepts into precise, print-ready packaging files for both primary and secondary components. The Senior Production Artist reports to the Production Director and requires a strong eye for technical detail, dielines, typography, and print specifications, as well as an appreciation for the aesthetics of prestige beauty.

Responsibilities

• Build accurate mechanical files for primary components (direct deco bottles, labels, tubes) and secondary packaging (cartons, giftsets, etc.)
• Review, apply, and adapt structural dielines, ensuring 1:1 and exact placement of all graphic elements, bleeds, and safety zones
• Adapt existing core brand file set-up across complex regional packaging sizes, translations, and global SKU variants
• Maintain typographic consistency, managing text wraps, kerning, ingredient list formatting, multi-lingual translations and legal requirements
• Liaise with cross-functional teams, including packaging engineer, marketing, and regulatory
• Communicate clearly with senior leadership and stakeholders regarding project status, potential risks, and action plans to mitigate delays
• Evaluate processes and identify areas for improvement; Implementing solutions to streamline workflows, enhance quality, and reduce costs
• Ensure printer proofs contain specified spot colors, varnish layers, and high-resolution imagery
• Coordinate with overseas/domestic printers and packaging engineers to resolve technical file issues if warranted
• Maintain consistent brand color standards across varied packaging substrates and print processes (e.g., offset, flexography)
• Understand regional print color profiles for proof to press expectations
• Output match prints for vendor target
• Maintain highly organized project directories, standardized file naming structures, and master digital asset libraries
• Produce in-house mockups and/or digital files to comp houses
• Manage production tasks for multiple concurrent product launches, ensuring strict adherence to global manufacturing deadlines
• May include minor retouching, color correction and conversions

Requirements

• Bachelor ’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging, Marketing or a related field
• 5+ years of Production Management experience
• Beauty industry experience required, fragrance preferred
• Packaging design agency experiences are welcomed
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to address production challenges
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, with expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
