Job Opportunity Senior Engineer Process Safety
I am representing a leading integrated energy firm and the largest refining entity in Ohio who is currently seeking a highly experienced professional to join their technical team in the Toledo area. This senior level role is focused on maintaining a zero harm environment through the expert management of process safety systems and risk mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and guarantee compliance with all federal process safety regulations including OSHA PSM and EPA Risk Management Programs.
Provide high level technical guidance for refinery safety programs with a focus on HAZOP PHA and LOPA.
Act as a dedicated leader for safety improvements by refining workflows and assurance tracking across the facility.
Direct incident investigations and perform thorough root cause analysis to establish preventative measures against future major accidents.
Manage the coordination of internal and third party audits while ensuring all corrective actions are tracked and closed successfully.
Collaborate with site leadership to set and measure performance targets regarding both occupational and process safety protocols.
Serve as an organizational change agent to embed safety principles into the daily operations and culture of the refinery.
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor degree in Engineering Chemistry or a related scientific or safety discipline.
A minimum of eight years of professional experience in process safety or technical engineering within the oil gas or chemical sectors.
Expert knowledge of United States safety regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.119 and EPA RMP rules.
Deep experience facilitating and leading PHA HAZOP LOPA and Management of Change processes.
Proven ability to lead complex incident investigations using established root cause methodologies.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
