Senior Platform Engineer / Senior DevOps Engineer / Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About This Role

This senior engineering role is for a technical owner of a service or platform within Anduril Australia's Corporate Technology team, which manages infrastructure and toolchains for engineers across cloud and classified on-premises environments. It suits an engineer with a strong operational background, capable of setting reliability and security baselines and partnering with diverse engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical owner of a service or platform end to end, including stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmap, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution
• Design systems for operation, considering failure modes, blast radius, observability, capacity, recovery, secure configuration, and multi-domain constraints
• Produce automation and tooling in Python, Bash, or Go that is well-structured, safe to run, reusable, and operator-friendly
• Isolate non-obvious faults efficiently across infrastructure-as-code and observability, and improve the environment
• Work across cloud-native (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes) and classified on-premises (Windows, Active Directory, VMware, air-gapped) environments as a confident generalist
• Carry out ISM/PSPF accreditation work for the owned service, designing secure baselines and multi-domain constraints
• Partner fluently with software, autonomy, and Maritime engineering teams, act as a trusted advisor, and mentor others in reliability practice

Requirements

• Around eight or more years in infrastructure, reliability, platform, or DevOps roles, with demonstrated experience weighted over formal qualifications
• A track record as the technical owner of a service or platform, covering requirements, roadmap, co-ordination, design, implementation, and sustainment
• Deep understanding across several layers of the stack and conversant across all of them, able to discuss trade-offs and failure history from real operations
• Fluent scripting and automation in Python, Bash, or Go, producing reusable tooling
• Strong systems-design judgment for operability, including security baselines, graceful degradation, and explicit cost and scaling trade-offs
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) in production
• Australian citizen, able to obtain and maintain an Australian NV2 security clearance (existing NV2 or equivalent preferred)

Nice to have:

• Experience in highly regulated environments (Defence or other Critical Infrastructure), with hands-on ISM/PSPF accreditation ownership
• Experience with classified or air-gapped on-premises infrastructure (Windows, Active Directory, VMware) as well as cloud-native estates
• A strong understanding of networking in cloud and hybrid environments
