Senior Planner
Location: Montebello, CA
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support a growing apparel business with a major national retail partner. This role sits at the intersection of planning, merchandising, sales, production, and finance, with a focus on driving profitable growth through strong forecasting, assortment planning, inventory management, and in-season decision-making.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will use data to identify opportunities, improve product flow, optimize inventory, and support strong sell-through across both e-commerce and brick-and-mortar channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop demand forecasts, assortment plans, inventory strategies, and size curves.
- Support pre-season planning, margin targets, and in-season performance management.
- Create weekly sales reporting and provide clear recommendations based on performance trends.
- Conduct store-, door-, regional-, and channel-level analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor sales, inventory, turn, stock-to-sales, and sell-through to improve product flow.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align planning, production, merchandising, and replenishment needs.
- Support fabric and raw material planning based on forecasts, production timing, and seasonal demand.
- Identify opportunities related to pricing, markdowns, inventory optimization, and process improvement.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of retail planning experience, ideally within mass retail, wholesale apparel, or high-volume accounts.
- Strong understanding of retail math, inventory management, forecasting, and assortment planning.
- Experience with store-level analysis and translating large data sets into actionable recommendations.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or demand-planning tools.
- Experience with major retailer reporting platforms is a plus.
- Apparel, denim, or multi-channel retail experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to partner across teams.
