B2B Project: Senior Java QA Engineer
Hays IT Contracting is a cooperation based on B2B rules. We connect IT specialists with the most interesting technological projects on the market. For our client we are currently looking for Senior Java QA Engineers interested in B2B cooperation.
Location: Hybrid, Kraków (3 days per week from the office)
Contract type: B2B, through Hays Poland
Compensation: up to 128 PLN/h net (+VAT)
Experience: min. 5 years
Start: ASAP
Project duration: until 31.12.2026 with a high probability of extension
Languages: English min. B2
Project and Role Overview:
You will join an international engineering team working on modern backend systems in a cloud environment. The role focuses on backend quality assurance, API testing, test automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and quality of software solutions.
Scope of Services:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for RESTful APIs and gRPC services using an internal Spring Boot-based framework
- Perform integration testing of backend systems running in a GCP environment
- Support release cycles, including smoke testing and manual validation
- Develop and enhance test automation frameworks using Java
- Analyze logs, metrics, and errors to identify and troubleshoot issues
- Collaborate closely with development, SRE, and product teams
- Participate in CI/CD processes and integrate automated tests into delivery pipelines
- Mentor junior QA engineers and share knowledge across the team
- Be open to participating in an on-call support rotation
Required Competencies:
- 5+ years of experience with Java.
- Strong experience in backend testing and test automation.
- Experience testing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience working with GCP.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Stackdriver.
- Basic scripting skills in Python or Bash.
- Experience with WireMock or similar tools for mocking external services and simulating API responses in integration tests.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
