Senior Instructional Designer - HR Talent Development & Learning

About This Role

This role focuses heavily on designing high-quality learning solutions that support professional development and organizational initiatives across the health system. The Senior Instructional Designer develops and designs course curriculum and training plans across multiple modalities, including instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced learning, with an emphasis on creating engaging, learner-centered experiences. The ideal candidate is equal parts instructional designer, content creator, and storyteller—someone who can transform content into dynamic, visually engaging learning experiences that drive engagement and application.

Responsibilities

• Analyze storyboards and other documentation and make recommendations for proper interactive and development strategies
• Design and develop self-paced trainings using sound instructional design principles
• Develop and program SCORM compliant e-learning courses using industry-leading authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and other instructional technologies
• Work with and create custom graphics in tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
• Offer innovative, creative solutions
• Develop multimedia learning assets including videos, animations, graphics, knowledge checks, and scenario-based learning activities
• Produce and edit learning videos and multimedia content to support virtual, blended, and self-paced learning experiences
• Identify and recommend appropriate instructional strategies, instructional technologies, and engagement techniques that improve learner retention and application
• Research and make recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources and technologies, and multimedia/software to support teaching and learning
• Keep abreast of new learning software applications and technical knowledge
• Incorporate real-world examples, reflection activities, and practical application into learning experiences
• Stay current on learning trends, instructional technologies, AI platforms, and innovative approaches to workplace learning
• Consult with SMEs on learning objectives and content through curriculum development sessions, document findings, and write reports
• Develop course materials, in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, animation and multimedia to make courses dynamic, visually appealing, and interactive
• Recommend appropriate assessment techniques
• Provide training plan, project milestones, forecast completion dates, identify risks and issues, and devise contingency plans to mitigate risks, inform management of accomplishments, plans, and activities
• Coordinate instructional projects from inception to completion, enter data into database, and maintain files and records
• Partner and collaborate with training vendors and manage vendor relationships, including selection, direction and issue resolution
