Senior HVAC/Refrigeration Service Technician – Commercial Systems
About The Role
We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Service Technician to join our team and support commercial and light industrial clients across the Raleigh area. This is a field-based role with a strong focus on diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance of large-scale HVAC equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including:
- DX systems (up to 100 tons)
- Packaged AC units (up to 150 tons)
- Water source heat pumps
- Gas-fired and electric heating systems
- Pneumatic, electronic, and DDC control systems
- Air handlers and VAV systems.
- Perform startup and commissioning services for new commercial installations.
- Adjust valves, controls, and pumps to ensure proper operation of fluid, pressure, and temperature systems.
- Complete preventative maintenance, including coil cleaning, belt replacements, and duct inspections.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain daily communication with dispatchers and provide timely status updates.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or HVAC Trade School certification
- Universal EPA Certification (Type I or Universal) required
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on commercial HVAC experience
- Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible shifts, including on-call rotations
- Professional demeanor with a clean appearance and well-maintained tools
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and have a valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety protocols
