About the role

Hybrid (3x a week RTO) | Mid Shift | Mandaluyong City

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Delivery: Lead full-stack feature delivery from architecture and database design to front-end development and deployment.
  • Backend Architecture: Design scalable Node.js/Express/NestJS services, APIs, and backend standards (auth, error handling, performance).
  • PWA Leadership: Drive Progressive Web App strategy, including offline caching, service workers, push notifications, and team standards.
  • Data Modeling: Structure MongoDB schemas and aggregations while enforcing NoSQL best practices.
  • Responsive Front-End: Build performant, mobile-optimized React interfaces across all device types.
  • Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct code reviews, establish engineering standards, resolve technical debt, and mentor junior/mid-level developers.
  • Production & Performance: Direct root-cause analysis for production issues and optimize Node.js, MongoDB, and React performance.
  • Technical Strategy: Guide roadmap decisions on technical feasibility, risk, and build-vs-buy choices.
  • Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in sprint planning and Agile delivery commitments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of full-stack web development experience
  • Strong expertise in Node.js backend and React frontend development
  • Expert knowledge of Express.js/NestJS, REST APIs, authentication, performance, and service reliability
  • Advanced React skills in component architecture, state management, hooks, and performance optimization
  • Proven experience building Progressive Web Applications (PWA), including service workers, offline caching, manifests, and push notifications
  • Experience developing responsive, touch-optimized web applications for mobile and tablet
  • Strong MongoDB skills, including data modeling, indexing, aggregation, and performance tuning
  • Expertise in REST API design, documentation, versioning, authentication, and third-party integrations
  • Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps/CI/CD, and Agile/Sprint delivery
  • Strong English communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong ownership, decision-making, problem-solving, and ability to work with ambiguity

Preferred

  • Advanced Workbox and multi-layer caching experience
  • Knowledge of Web Push API, FCM, and VAPID
  • Experience with GraphQL or WebSockets
  • Knowledge of microservices and API gateway architecture
  • Experience with Jest, Cypress, Playwright, and automated/PWA testing
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure for hosting, monitoring, and deployment
