Senior Field Service Engineer – MV Motors, Generators & Excitation Systems
We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade of Medium Voltage rotating equipment , including motors, generators, excitation systems, and AVR systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering onsite technical support, ensuring equipment reliability, and providing expert guidance to customers across various industrial and power generation environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation, commissioning, startup, refurbishment, and maintenance of medium-voltage synchronous and induction motors , generators, excitation systems, and AVR packages.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and emergency repair interventions on rotating electrical equipment.
- Supervise and execute testing, validation, and commissioning activities for protection, control, and regulation systems associated with rotating machines.
- Perform electrical testing including:
- HV AC/DC testing
- Insulation Resistance (IR) and Polarization Index (PI) testing
- HV surge testing
- CT & VT testing
- Temperature sensor testing
- Protection system verification
- Inspect, test, and maintain:
- Brushless excitation systems
- Static excitation systems
- Surge arresters and capacitors
- Diodes and capacitors on brushless excitation systems
- Conduct inspections of stator windings, stator cores, bearings, lubrication systems, and mechanical components.
- Support assembly, disassembly, and inspection of vertical and horizontal bearings, rotor-mounted fans, and associated components.
- Perform dimensional measurements and alignment checks of rotating equipment.
- Inspect and service jacking oil systems and lubrication systems.
- Operate lifting equipment and handle heavy rotating machine components safely.
- Provide technical guidance and training to customer personnel regarding operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, service records, field documentation, timesheets, and expense reports.
- Coordinate and supervise field personnel and subcontractors during site activities.
- Ensure compliance with the highest HSE standards and company safety policies.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on field service experience with motors, generators, and rotating electrical equipment.
- Proven experience in commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MV rotating machines in industrial, oil & gas, power generation, or utilities environments.
- Strong customer-facing and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead field activities with minimal supervision.

- Willingness to travel in Saudi Arabia up to 80% of the time .
- Valid driving licence.
